Shalom Israel Community is a proud supporter of Love To The Needy in Israel. Chaim and his wife Cheryl are a selfless couple who work hard to provide food and items needed to help the poor there in Israel. Below is their Vision
- To shine our light before people so that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven.
- To help the needy out of poverty.
History
Chaim Barak, director and founder of Love to the Needy, was once homeless and in need in Australia. There God touched his heart through help he received from the Salvation Army. The truth of Isaiah 58:7 was impressed upon him, and in 1997, Chaim founded Ahava LaNitzkak ” Love to the Needy” in Israel.
The Situation in Israel
According to official statistics, approximately one in every 3 children in Israel is living below the poverty level. Many children go to school without breakfast. Many others also do not have the necessary equipment for school since their parents do not have enough money to purchase books, school backpacks, notebooks, etc.
We Help
Love to the Needy gives help to individuals in need. We help the unemployed, single mothers, new immigrants, the homeless, Holocaust survivors, and others who fall below the poverty line in Israel. In addition, we help other non-profit organizations which provide for the needy in their localities.
Prison Ministry is an important part of doing the Father’s work.
Shalom Israel has a wonderful servant, Mike Clark, who is a natural at working with the men’s prison ministry.
We enjoy hearing the stories each week as Mike shares with the congregation the progress being made each week.
Recently there was a baptism for both the men and women’s blocks. YHVH worked major miracles during this baptism.
See the article HERE that went over the airwaves, it was very touching.
We support prisoners who have no funds to buy simple items like a comb or toothpaste and a toothbrush. In prison, they are not provided these things. We also provide the most important item that they need, a bible.
